Important items for the week of Thanksgiving 2023
Happy Thanksgiving week! Here are updates from the Town of Spencer for November 22 – 25, 2023:
Town Hall
Town Hall will close at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday to accommodate parade staffing needs and will remain closed on Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Public Works
There will not be any bulky waste pickup this week, but the rest of the waste pickup schedule will remain the same.
There will be various road closures due to the parade on Wednesday:
From 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (or until the roads are cleared of all participants):
- Jefferson Street will be closed from US HWY 29 to North Whitehead Avenue
- North Whitehead Avenue will be closed from Forestdale Drive to 2nd Street
- Oakwood Drive will be closed from North Whitehead Avenue to Pincroft Lane
From 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (or until the highway is cleared of all participants):
- US HWY 29 corridor (a.k.a. South Salisbury Avenue) will be closed from Jefferson Street to 11th Street
