Request for Qualifications: Design Services for Yadkin River Trailhead
The Town of Spencer, North Carolina seeks qualifications for design services for the Yadkin River Park Trailhead. The proposed trailhead is to be located on Salisbury Avenue (old US Hwy. 29) in Spencer and Rowan County. The project site is adjacent to the Wil-Cox Bridge, a pedestrian and bicycle bridge that spans the Yadkin River, connecting to Davidson County’s recently developed river park, boat access and Fort York – a Civil War era historic site.
The trailhead project is to be designed and built within, and adjacent to, a surplus right of way, owned by the Town of Spencer. Specifically, the Town seeks qualifications of a licensed, registered and/or certified landscape architect or architect, demonstrably qualified for site planning, erosion control, drainage, trail design, hardscape design, and landscape design. Experience with project construction management, governmental bid and acquisition processes are required. Familiarity with state and federal recreational grant programs are preferred.
