Volunteers need for 2024 Spencer Day of Caring event at North Rowan Elementary School
SPENCER—For this year’s Spencer Cares effort, we are creating a volunteer team to participate in the Rowan County United Way Day of Caring on April 11th. Join Town staff as we conduct trail maintenance for North Rowan Elementary School! We will be clearing small trees and limbs that have fallen across the trail and repairing a couple of bridges and other structures.
We will start the day at the Hurley YMCA, 828 Jake Alexander Blvd. W, Salisbury, NC 28147, with breakfast at 7:00 am. After breakfast, we will go to the job. Lunches will be delivered between 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 pm. Drinks, snacks, t-shirts, and materials needed will be provided. Be sure to wear waterproof/water-resistant boots and protective clothing (long sleeves, pants, etc.) as the ground is wet and there is poison oak/ivy/sumac in the area. If you are interested in participating, complete your waiver and submit it to our Office Assistant, Allison Myers (amyers@spencernc.gov), so you can join our team. Be sure to do so before April 4th so we can submit everything at the same time. We hope to see you there!
