Third Thursday: Destiny Stone Returns to Spencer Town Park on August 20

SPENCER – The Town of Spencer invites residents and visitors to enjoy the next installment of the Third Thursday Music Series at Spencer Town Park on Thursday, August 20, featuring local musician and Catawba College alumna Destiny Stone.

Stone previously organized and performed a successful Memorial Day concert at Town Park, helping demonstrate the community’s enthusiasm for live music events. Her efforts helped spark conversations that ultimately contributed to the creation of Spencer’s new Third Thursday music series pilot.

The August 20 performance will include two 45-minute sets running from 6-8 p.m., with an intermission planned for the top of the 7 p.m. hour. Lawn chairs and dinner picnics from one of our many local restaurants are encouraged.

Spencer’s Third Thursday Music Series is a pilot community music program hosted by the Town in Spencer Town Park. Developed through partnerships with Duke Energy, Piedmont Natural Gas, and Catawba College, the series provides free live entertainment, encourages community gathering, and showcases local and regional talent. By combining local partnerships with public programming, the Town hopes to continue building a tradition of live music and community events.
