Rowan County to host flood map update information session
ROWAN COUNTY – Rowan County is hosting a “drop-in” public meeting at the West End Plaza (formerly Salisbury Mall) located at 1935 West Jake Alexander Boulevard in Salisbury on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, between 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. to assist the public in understanding the proposed preliminary flood map changes. Rowan County Planning Staff compared parcel data with revised Special Flood Hazard Areas (SFHA) identified on preliminary flood maps and prepared a list of impacted properties. Notices have been sent to property owners with an increase due to being added to the SFHA.
Below is the color version of the public notice that was mailed to property owners in the jurisdiction of the Town of Spencer. Click on the image for a PDF version. The Parcel ID was placed on the envelope for ease of reference to owners of multiple properties in the county.
Rowan County Planning staff will be present at the meeting to speak with any citizens or property owners from your jurisdiction.
