Surplus furniture and other property available in Spencer

SPENCER — The Town of Spencer will make furniture and other items available to governmental and non-profit organizations, and ultimately the general public, later this month. The Spencer Board of Aldermen adopted a resolution in 2024, declaring certain personal property surplus to the Town’s operations.

Furnishings and other personal property from the Town’s former building at 600 S. Salisbury Avenue will be available for donation to nonprofit organizations and governmental units, pursuant to NCGS § 160A-280, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, and 9-11 a.m. on Friday, April 25.

Remaining items will be available for private negotiation and sale to other interested parties, pursuant to NCGS § 160A-266, from 12:00 noon until 4 p.m. on Friday, April 25.

Any non-profit organization interested in viewing the property in advance should contact Town Hall at 704-633-2231 to schedule an appointment.

All items are sold “as is,” and all payments must be made at Spencer Town Hall, located in Park Plaza at 460 S. Salisbury Avenue.

A complete list of available surplus items is available here. The Town of Spencer reserves the right to remove any items from this list at any time.
