SPENCER – The Town of Spencer will host its next Neighborhood Walk on Tuesday, August 18, from 5:30-6:30 p.m., featuring a guided walk through the Fred & Alice Stanback Educational Forest. Participants will meet at the existing 11th Street Trailhead parking area before embarking on an approximately one-hour walk through portions of the forest trail network.

Neighborhood Walks are part of the Town’s ongoing community engagement efforts. The concept is simple yet powerful. Neighbors walk alongside Town representatives to identify opportunities for improvement, learn about community assets, and build rapport with one another. Neighborhood Walks alternate months with Spencer’s Talk of the Town series. Together, the two initiatives provide residents with opportunities to learn about local government, explore community assets, share ideas, and help shape Spencer’s future.

The August walk will provide an opportunity to experience one of Spencer’s growing recreational assets while learning more about the forest, recent trail improvements, future expansion plans, and efforts to improve pedestrian connectivity throughout the community.

Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water.
