RSS Summer Meals Program Planning Meeting

A team of volunteers from Spencer’s Central UMC is planning to host a 2022 Summer Meals Program distribution site for the North Rowan community. Meal service will be five days a week in the CUMC fellowship hall, June 6 through July 29 (no service on July 4). Time for food delivery is yet to be determined. The group is looking for additional congregations, civic groups, individuals, or anyone else interested in being a part of this year’s program. This will be one of several locations sponsored by Rowan-Salisbury Schools Nutrition Dept and the USDA. The goal of the program is to provide free meals to children ages 3-18 throughout the summer months. Anyone interested in volunteering must bring a valid government-issued photo ID for background screening purposes.
