2025 Race to the River

SPENCER – Creek Week is a week-long celebration of local waters throughout North Carolina. This year, Rowan Creek Week will take place from October 11 to 18. In conjunction with multiple organizations and local municipal departments, Creek Week provides recreational, educational, and volunteer opportunities to enable everyone to enjoy and contribute to the health of our local waters.

The fourth annual Race to the River 5K will take place on October 18 at 9:00 a.m. In-person registration for the race and the Medicine Take-Back Event will start at 8:00 a.m. The 20-mile Ride to the River will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the 7-mile ride will begin at 8:45 a.m. The finish line will be at the Yadkin River Park Trailhead, where trolleys (sponsored by Novant Health) will be available to bring participants back to the newly completed Spencer Town Park for the Race to the River Festival. The festival will have the Fun Run, food trucks, a bike rodeo, and the award ceremony. Liam Pendergrass will provide live entertainment.

All proceeds from the race will benefit the Spencer Community Garden.
